Many Houses Burnt Following the conflict Amongst the Tiv and Jukun People.

Developing reports propose that several people have been pronounced missing and many houses burnt taking after a conflict amongst Tiv and Jukun people.

According to report, the conflict started on Wednesday, June 14, at Fidi suburb, opposite the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Makurdi.

The conflict took another turn early hours of yesterday when the area, famously known as airport village, all of a sudden went under assault by incendiaries who set many houses ablaze.

More than 20 houses were burnt in the new fracas, including that of the Kindred Head of Kyurav, Uor Adi.

Be that as it may, the paramount traditional ruler of Makurdi Local Government Area, Ter Makurdi II, Dr. Sule Abenga, told newsmen that the matter was accounted for to him early today by young people from the pained group who matched in protest to his palace.

"They (youths) disclosed to me that several houses were set ablaze including that of my Kindred Head. They additionally charged that a few people were missing yet I'm yet to affirm that. I quieted them and encouraged them to exercise stoicism while I go to Gboko to brief the Tor Tiv about the rather unfortunate development.

"I have recently come back from Gboko and the Tor Tiv expressed need for calm so that the government could intervene in the matter. I have related the Tor Tiv message back to them and they have guaranteed to resist the urge to panic," Abenga said.

The Benue state police command's representative, Moses Joel Yamu, who affirmed the episode, included that four individuals have been captured regarding the matter.
