UEFA shows support for shortening of transfer window

UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, has communicated his support for the shortening of the exchange window.

Ceferin needs the market shut, before the begining of the season, in the face of controversial moments that characterize transfers of players across Europe.

English Premier League clubs are relied upon to vote on the proposition on Thursday, with 14 clubs required to support it before it could be endorsed.

"I am mindful there are serious dialogs around Europe with respect to the shortening of the summer exchange window and we are tailing them intently.

"In my view, it is bad when footballers play for one club when the league begins and another club when the exchange window closes. There is a ton of vulnerability for quite a while.

"In this way I would state that the window may be too long and I would bolster it being shorter," Ceferin revealed to The Times.
