Robert Guillaume, voice of ‘Rafiki’ in Lion King dies at 89


Actor Robert Guillaume, the voice behind the character ”Rafiki” in popular Disney hit “The Lion King”, has died.
The two-time Emmy Award winner died yesterday of complications from prostate cancer 89.
Confirming the news, his wife, Donna Guillaume told CNN he had battled prostate cancer in recent years.
Donna said Robert is survived by four children, all of whom had spent time visiting their father in his final weeks.
“He went the way everyone wishes they could, surrounded by love and in his sleep.”
She added that her husband really loved making music, entertaining and making people laugh.
Guillaume is the first black actor to win the Emmy Award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series in 1985 for Benson.
